Black Souls

Black Souls is a newly released Souls-like Role-playing and Single-player video game for Windows. Its plot takes you back long ago in the time of kingdom, the Lost Empire. The empire is shrouded in dense mist turning humans into beasts. In short, the humanity is standing on the brink of destruction and the world needs a hero who could fight against enemies and save the world. As in every story, heroes rose for fame glory and to find hidden treasures.

This time, they will find the treasure buried in secret gardens. Furthermore, the world is open-ended and players can freely navigate it. There are several playable classes to choose and the game has featured a symbol encounter system. I’ve written this guide to help you prevent Hansel and Gretel from transforming into vicious monsters. Read the guide to learn the basics and follow the images to visit specific locations to fulfill the task.

How Not to Kill Hansel and Gretel

You are in a strange world where one wrong move can turn innocent children into monsters. Your goal is to reach Hansel and Gretel without committing any sins or picking up cursed items, and still unlock their scenes.

Start from the First Bonfire

From the bonfire, go up and pass through the next clearing.

Enter the Abandoned Forest and move around it by keeping to the left side. Continue going up until you reach a fork in the road.

There’s a good ring on the left, but you need to go right and then up again to reach the Dump Area.

From the dump, go left, and when you reach the wall, go up and enter the left passage.

Avoid Bread Crumbs

Inside the passage, you will find several items on the floor.

Do not pick up any of them. These are bread crumbs. Picking up even one will fail the quest.

Continue moving left until you see a bonfire above. Light it.

There is one safe item nearby — you can pick it up.

Reach the House

From the bonfire, go up. If you haven’t committed any sins and haven’t picked up crumbs, the door ahead won’t have white fog.

Go through the door to meet Hansel and Gretel.

Talk to both of them and choose polite options. Give Hansel a Candy when the option appears.

Meet the Suspicious Man

Exit the house. On the right side of the door, you will meet a suspicious man. Talk to him, he will ask for matches.

If you already have matches from the Soul Farming route, give them to him and skip the next steps.
If not, follow the steps below to get them.

Get Matches from Elma

Go around the house to find a shed. It’s locked with a Master Key. If you don’t have one, go back inside and talk to Dorothy. She will give you a key.

Enter the shed and go down to the basement. Move through the sewers to the first fork, then go up and to the right.

Cross the bridge, go left at the next split, then up to reach the Rotten City.

Open the shortcut on the left, or continue around the right, head down, then go left into the alley.

Find Elma’s house, unlock the door with the Master Key, and buy a couple of matches.

There’s a bonfire behind her house. Light it and fast travel back to the Abandoned Forest.

Prepare for the Boss Fight

Return to the house and talk to the knight waiting outside. Give him the matches.

Do not enter the house yet. Save your progress.

The knight is a powerful enemy. You should be at Level 100 or higher before fighting him.

If you die, leave, or enter and exit the house, the children will be killed.

Only fight him when you’re confident you can win.

Final Choices

After defeating the knight, you will have the option to share souls with Hansel and Gretel.

  • If you choose one, you’ll get a full bed scene with that child.
  • If you save both, you’ll unlock a double black banana scene.
