Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Adds Echoes of Sekigahara
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is live on PS5 with the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, the Most Wanted survival mode, and a $14.99 upgrade.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is live on PS5, bundling Sucker Punch Productions' samurai revenge story with its first paid expansion, a new survival mode, and every previously released piece of DLC. The October 1 update lands almost exactly a year after Atsu's original quest against the Yōtei Six launched, and it's the biggest content drop the game has received since release.
The headline addition is Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion that sends Atsu back to the mainland for the first time. Most Wanted, a standalone roguelike survival mode, ships alongside it. Both are included automatically if you buy Complete Edition, or unlocked through a separate upgrade if you already own the base game.
01What's Included in Complete Edition
Complete Edition rolls the original campaign, the Ghost of Yōtei Legends co-op multiplayer mode, and all of the content that previously shipped in the Digital Deluxe edition into one package. On top of that catalog, it adds Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted as new, exclusive content that isn't available any other way. Sony lists Complete Edition at $69.99 for anyone who doesn't already own Ghost of Yōtei, with PS5 as the only platform — the game remains a PlayStation console exclusive.
Owners of the original release also get a free, no-cost update regardless of whether they buy the expansion: a new photo-mode-adjacent "Beauty of Yōtei" mode that turns the game into an ambient showcase of Ezo's environments, plus quality-of-life fixes such as keeping an equipped armor set's appearance while using a different set's combat stats.
02Echoes of Sekigahara Digs Into Atsu's Past
Echoes of Sekigahara is a flashback-driven story arc split between the present-day Ezo timeline and Atsu's earlier years as a ronin on the Japanese mainland. It centers on the Battle of Sekigahara, the real 1600 conflict that cemented Tokugawa rule over Japan, and introduces Nagato, a figure from Atsu's past who resurfaces in Ezo during the present-day story. The expansion also opens up a previously unexplored valley once controlled by a gang called the Vipers, complete with new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes to unlock.

Erika Ishii, who voices Atsu, told the PlayStation Blog that she and Echoes of Sekigahara writer Courtney Woods had been angling for this kind of story since the base game's launch party. The expansion folds in a romance subplot for Atsu that Ishii says she specifically pushed for during development.

03Most Wanted Brings Back Jin Sakai
Most Wanted is a single-player combat survival mode built around bounty runs: pick a target off a bounty board, fight through escalating waves tied to that contract, and unlock perks and upgrades as you go before a final boss encounter. It supports four playable characters — Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato, and, notably, Jin Sakai, the protagonist of the original Ghost of Tsushima, who returns here as a fully playable character for the first time in the Ghost series with all four of his signature stances intact.

Because Most Wanted sits outside the main campaign's continuity, Ishii said her dialogue recording for it had a different tone than the main story. The mode is built for repeat runs rather than a single playthrough, and Sucker Punch has positioned it as a standalone companion to the story content rather than an extension of it.
04Price and the Upgrade Path for Existing Owners
If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, you don't need to rebuy the whole game. A Complete Edition Upgrade unlocks Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted for $14.99 through the PlayStation Store, layering the new content onto your existing save and progress. Anyone starting fresh pays the full $69.99 for Complete Edition and gets the base campaign, Legends multiplayer, the prior Deluxe Edition content, and both new modes in a single purchase.
05What Else Changed in the October 1 Update
Beyond the paid content, the October 1 patch is a full version update for every owner of the game, PS5 Pro included. The free Beauty of Yōtei mode and the armor-transmog quality-of-life fix apply whether or not you buy the upgrade, and Sucker Punch has continued to treat the base game's photo mode and performance options as an ongoing work in progress since launch. Neither Sucker Punch nor PlayStation has announced further paid story content for Ghost of Yōtei beyond Echoes of Sekigahara, so for now this update represents the game's full, final content slate a year after release.
