Stardew Valley Greenhouse Year 1: Complete Pantry Bundle Plan
Unlock the Stardew Valley Greenhouse in Year 1 with every Pantry bundle item, what to plant each season, gold-quality targets and Traveling Cart fallbacks.
The Greenhouse is the single biggest upgrade you can earn in your first year of Stardew Valley: a 10-by-12 plot where crops ignore the seasons and regrowing plants never die. The price is the Community Center Pantry, six bundles that ask for crops from three seasons, gold-quality harvests, animal products and artisan goods. Miss one planting window and you are waiting until Year 2. This plan lays out every item, when you can get it and what to plant so the scroll is finished before winter ends.
Everything below is checked against the official Stardew Valley Wiki bundle list for version 1.6.15, the current PC release. It assumes standard bundles; if you turned on remixed bundles when creating your save, jump to the last section.
01What the Pantry Asks For
You first open the Community Center by walking into Pelican Town from the Bus Stop between 8am and 1pm on a dry day, Spring 5 or later. Read the golden scroll, visit the Wizard the next day for Forest Magic, and the bundles become readable. The Pantry opens up after you complete your first bundle. Finish all six Pantry bundles and the Junimos repair the Greenhouse overnight.
| Bundle | Items (slots to fill) | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Spring Crops | Parsnip, Green Bean, Cauliflower, Potato (all 4) | 20 Speed-Gro |
| Summer Crops | Tomato, Hot Pepper, Blueberry, Melon (all 4) | Quality Sprinkler |
| Fall Crops | Corn, Eggplant, Pumpkin, Yam (all 4) | Bee House |
| Quality Crops | 5 gold Parsnip, 5 gold Melon, 5 gold Pumpkin, 5 gold Corn (any 3) | Preserves Jar |
| Animal | Large Milk, Large Brown Egg, Large Egg, Large Goat Milk, Wool, Duck Egg (any 5) | Cheese Press |
| Artisan | Truffle Oil, Cloth, Goat Cheese, Cheese, Honey, Jelly, Apple, Apricot, Orange, Peach, Pomegranate, Cherry (any 6) | Keg |
Quality rules matter. A bundle that names no quality accepts anything, and a gold slot also accepts iridium. Since version 1.5 you can mix stacks of different qualities to reach a count, so three gold and two iridium Parsnips fill the same slot.

02Spring: Four Crops and Your First Gold Stack
All four Spring Crops seeds are at Pierre's General Store from day one. Pierre is closed on Wednesdays until the Community Center is finished, so plan your seed runs around that. A season has 28 days, and a crop planted and watered on day X is ready on day X plus its growth time. That gives these last safe planting days without Speed-Gro:
| Crop | Seed (Pierre) | Growth | Plant by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parsnip | 20g | 4 days | Spring 24 |
| Potato | 50g | 6 days | Spring 22 |
| Green Bean | 60g (trellis, regrows every 3 days) | 10 days | Spring 18 |
| Cauliflower | 80g | 12 days | Spring 16 |
Get Cauliflower in the ground in the first week; it is the one that catches people out. On every farm map except Meadowlands, Mayor Lewis gives you 15 Parsnip Seeds at the start, so keep one Parsnip back for the bundle instead of shipping the whole first harvest.
Start the Quality Crops Bundle now, too. Gold Parsnips are the cheapest gold target in the game. Basic Fertilizer is craftable from 2 Sap once you hit Farming level 1, and Pierre stocks it for 100g from Spring 15. The wiki's quality tables show the effect: gold chance on unfertilized soil at Farming level 1 is 3%, rising to 8% with Basic Fertilizer, and 19% at level 4 with fertilizer. Every harvest earns Farming XP, so a big fertilized Parsnip patch planted in the second half of spring is your best shot at five gold ones.
Money goal for spring: bank enough to buy a Coop (4,000g, 300 Wood, 100 Stone) and, if you can, a Barn (6,000g, 350 Wood, 150 Stone) early in summer. Robin finishes most buildings two days after she starts, and animals need a few nights to mature before they produce.
03Summer: Crops, Corn and Fruit Trees
On Summer 1, Pierre swaps to summer seeds. Hit these planting deadlines:
| Crop | Seed (Pierre) | Growth | Plant by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hot Pepper | 40g (regrows every 3 days) | 5 days | Summer 23 |
| Tomato | 50g (keeps producing) | 11 days | Summer 17 |
| Melon | 80g | 12 days | Summer 16 |
| Blueberry | 80g (keeps producing) | 13 days | Summer 15 |
| Corn | 150g (summer and fall, keeps producing) | 14 days | Early summer |
Corn is the key purchase of the year. Planted in early summer, it keeps producing through fall, so one fertilized patch covers the Fall Crops Corn slot and gives you repeated rolls at five gold Corn. For your second gold stack choose between Melon now and Pumpkin in fall; fertilized Melons planted in the first week of summer are the safer play because they leave you a backup attempt with Pumpkins.
Summer is also when you lock in fruit for the Artisan Bundle. Fruit trees take 28 days to mature, need a clear 3x3 space and only fruit in their season. An Apple Sapling (4,000g) or Pomegranate Sapling (6,000g) planted early in summer is mature for fall. Orange (4,000g) and Peach (6,000g) are summer fruit, so they only help Year 1 if you plant them in spring. Extra Blueberries and Melons also count as fruit for Jelly later.
04Fall: Finish the Crops, Upgrade the Animals
| Crop | Seed (Pierre) | Growth | Plant by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eggplant | 20g (regrows every 5 days) | 5 days | Fall 23 |
| Yam | 60g | 10 days | Fall 18 |
| Pumpkin | 100g | 13 days | Fall 15 |
| Corn | 150g | 14 days | Fall 14 |
If your summer Corn survived into fall, Corn is already done. Plant a fertilized Pumpkin field in the first days of fall so you get a gold stack if Melons fell short. Completing the Quality Crops Bundle hands you a Preserves Jar, and the Fall Crops Bundle hands you a Bee House, both of which you need next.
05The Animal Bundle on a Year 1 Budget
This is the most expensive bundle. Wool needs a Deluxe Barn or Deluxe Coop, so the practical five are the other items:
- Large Egg and Large Brown Egg: Coop plus chickens (800g each at Marnie's). Chicken color is random, but the purchase screen names the color and you can cancel to try again until you get one white and one brown.
- Large Milk: Barn plus a Cow (1,500g).
- Duck Egg: Big Coop upgrade (10,000g, 400 Wood, 150 Stone) plus a Duck (1,200g). Ducks lay every other day.
- Large Goat Milk: Big Barn upgrade (12,000g, 450 Wood, 200 Stone) plus a Goat (4,000g).
That route costs 32,000g in buildings and 8,300g in animals. Marnie is closed Monday and Tuesday. Large products come down to care: per the wiki's animal mechanics, only animals with at least 200 friendship can produce them, and mood decides the odds, so pet every animal daily and keep them fed.

If the upgrades are out of reach, check the Traveling Cart. Unstarred animal products, Wool included, can appear there; a single cart Wool or Duck Egg saves you a whole building upgrade.
06The Artisan Bundle: Six Realistic Picks
Truffle Oil needs a pig and an Oil Maker (Farming level 8), and Cloth needs a Loom (Farming level 7) plus Wool, so skip both. The six most reachable Year 1 slots:
- Cheese: Milk in a Cheese Press. The Animal Bundle rewards one, or craft it at Farming level 6.
- Goat Cheese: Goat Milk from the goat you already bought, same press.
- Honey: Bee House from the Fall Crops reward or Farming level 3. Place it outdoors on the farm; it takes 4 nights and does not work in winter.
- Jelly: any fruit, including a Blueberry, in a Preserves Jar (Quality Crops reward or Farming level 4).
- Apple or Pomegranate: from the sapling you planted in summer.
- A second fruit: a second fall tree, a spring-planted Orange or Peach, or a cart purchase.
Once you have earned 25,000g in total, Demetrius offers you a choice for the Farm Cave. Picking fruit bats leaves fruit in the cave, which can fill Artisan fruit slots even out of season. The choice is permanent, so only take it if you are fine giving up the mushroom option.
07Fallbacks: Traveling Cart, Night Market and Winter
The Traveling Cart parks in Cindersap Forest south of your farm on Fridays and Sundays (6am to 8pm). It also shows up during the Desert Festival (Spring 15-17) and at the Night Market (Winter 15-17). Stock is random and pricey, but it can sell out-of-season crops and fruit. Two hard limits: it never sells starred (silver or better) items, so it cannot help with Quality Crops, and it never sells a few rare items such as Ancient Fruit and Void Salmon.
Winter is your cleanup season. No crop bundle can be started from seed outdoors, but animals still produce, Cheese Presses and Preserves Jars still run, and the cart keeps visiting. Put a stack of every Pantry item in a chest as you harvest it so a failed gold roll or a sold-off Yam never costs you a year.
Do not buy a JojaMart membership if you want this route. Joja can sell you the Greenhouse through the Community Development Form for 35,000g, but the membership permanently turns the Community Center into a Joja Warehouse.
“And there's a new update in the works which I think will make the game even better, and give everyone who hasn't played in a while a reason to come back again.”Eric Barone (ConcernedApe), creator of Stardew Valley, official blog, February 2026
08Remixed Bundles and Current Version
If you chose remixed bundles in advanced options, the Pantry still has six bundles but some rotate. According to the wiki's remixed bundle page:
- Spring, Summer and Fall Crops pick 4 items at random from a larger pool. Spring adds Kale and Carrot, Summer adds Summer Squash, Fall adds Broccoli. Carrot, Summer Squash and Broccoli seeds are not sold in shops; they come from Seed Spots, Raccoon requests, golden fishing chests and the Seed Maker.
- Quality Crops can draw gold stacks from a wider crop list, or be replaced by a Rare Crops Bundle (Ancient Fruit and Sweet Gem Berry), which is very hard in Year 1.
- Animal can be swapped for a Fish Farmer's Bundle (Roe, Aged Roe, Squid Ink) or a Garden Bundle (Tulip, Blue Jazz, Summer Spangle, Sunflower, Fairy Rose). If you get the Garden version, count yourself lucky: every flower seed for it is in Pierre's stock in Year 1.
- Artisan can become a Brewer's Bundle (Mead, Pale Ale, Wine, Juice, Green Tea), which needs Kegs from Farming level 8.
The season-by-season logic is the same: read your scroll on day one, list every item, and slot each into the season it grows. Also note the Guarantee Year 1 Completable option, which makes the cart sell Red Cabbage Seeds once in Year 1 for another room's bundle; it does not change the Pantry.
Stardew Valley 1.6.15 released on PC on December 20, 2024, and consoles later received matching 1.6.15.x patches. ConcernedApe has confirmed another update is in development; any bundle changes it brings are unconfirmed until official patch notes ship. You can buy the game on Steam or the Nintendo eShop.
Stardew Valley 1.6.15 is now available on PC, Android, and iOS. Patches will continue to roll out to consoles as soon as possible until they are in sync with 1.6.15 PC.

FAQ
Can you unlock the Greenhouse in Stardew Valley Year 1?
Yes. Every standard Pantry item can be grown, raised or crafted in Year 1, as long as you hit the spring, summer and fall planting windows and afford a Big Coop and Big Barn. The Traveling Cart can cover some misses, but not the gold-quality crops.
Which Pantry bundle is hardest?
The Animal Bundle is the most expensive, because the cheapest five items need a Big Coop and a Big Barn: about 32,000g in buildings plus 8,300g in animals. The Quality Crops Bundle is the most luck-dependent, which is why Basic Fertilizer and repeated Corn harvests matter.
Does the Traveling Cart sell gold-quality crops for the Quality Crops Bundle?
No. The Traveling Cart never sells starred items, so silver, gold and iridium crops must come from your own fields. It can still sell regular-quality crops, fruit and animal products for other Pantry bundles.
Should I buy the Greenhouse from Joja instead?
Only if you have already committed to Joja. The Joja Community Development Form sells the Greenhouse for 35,000g, but buying a JojaMart membership permanently turns the Community Center into a Joja Warehouse and ends the bundle route.
Does this plan work with remixed bundles?
The timing logic does, but the items may differ. Remixed crop bundles pick 4 items from a larger pool, and the Animal and Artisan slots can become Garden, Fish Farmer's or Brewer's bundles, so read your own scroll first and slot each item into its season.
