Guild Wars 2's "Code of Creation" went live on September 15, closing out the Visions of Eternity expansion with six new story chapters, a new zone, a 10-player raid, a five-player fractal and a legendary sword. It's the last major content release before ArenaNet's fall 2026 event calendar takes over, and it resolves the fight against Kuda and Vloxx that the expansion has been building toward since its launch. Everything below is live in-game right now, so there's no patch to download beyond the client update that shipped with yesterday's release.

01What Code of Creation Adds Today

The update's core content is all live now: the Leyspring Hollows map, the six-chapter story finale, the Nexus of Eternity raid and Convergence, the Solitary Throne fractal, a new legendary sword and a fresh Wizard's Vault rotation. Two features are staggered over the following weeks — Challenge Mode versions of the new encounters arrive September 29, and Legendary Raid Mode follows on October 13, giving raid guilds a harder target to chase once the initial clears settle down.

TipLeyspring Hollows' main event area closes about an hour after its meta-event wraps, so queue in early if you want to see the whole chain instead of catching only the tail end.

02Leyspring Hollows and the Finale of Visions of Eternity

Leyspring Hollows is a cavern zone beneath Castora, reached as you chase Kuda's Inquest and Vloxx through the leyspring's twisting veins. The zone leans into the underground setting with bioluminescent flora lighting the caverns, and it closes its main event area roughly an hour after the meta-event completes, so it's built around a drop-in-and-finish rhythm rather than a persistent open map. The six story chapters that follow deliver the ending to the Visions of Eternity arc, resolving the season-long conflict on Castora.

03Nexus of Eternity: New Raid, Fractal and Convergence

The new endgame content splits across three formats. The Nexus of Eternity raid needs a full 10-player squad and centers on one large encounter with multiple phases rather than several shorter bosses. The same fight is repackaged as the Nexus of Eternity Convergence for players who want a taste of it outside a raid group, and the Solitary Throne fractal gives five-player parties a scaled-down version of the same story beats. If you're jumping in on day one, expect groups to still be learning the raid's phase transitions — Challenge Mode isn't live until September 29, so there's no rush to master enrage timers yet.

04Rift Amplification, New Gear and the Wizard's Vault

A new Rift Amplification mastery line unlocks over four tiers: Rift Tears gives teleport shortcuts to active rifts, Overcharged Rifts adds an optional harder difficulty with better rewards, and the last two tiers extend both Rift Tears and Overcharge access to every rift in Tyria, not just the ones on Castora. On the gear side, the update adds the Tenebral Ward armor set, the Shining Ward weapon set and the Wages of Stars legendary sword, which carries a starfield draw animation and constellation footfalls. The Wizard's Vault also gets its seasonal refresh, swapping in the Gwyl Knight weapon set, new Ward Hunter armor pieces and a Bird Pond Chair cosmetic alongside the usual rotating objectives. As with past legendary releases, Wages of Stars is crafted through a multi-step collection rather than bought outright, so expect its full requirements to show up on the wiki over the next few days as players work through the recipe.

ArenaNet's official announce trailer for Code of Creation, posted a week ahead of today's September 15, 2026 launch.

05What's Next: Challenge Modes and the Fall 2026 Roadmap

ArenaNet has already published its schedule through the end of the year. After Code of Creation's Challenge Modes on September 29, a Dismount Rush event runs alongside it through October 6, Shadow of the Mad King returns October 13 through November 3 (the same day Legendary Raid Mode unlocks), and a Fractal Incursion event with an Extra Life charity bonus runs November 10 to December 1, including an Extra Life Game Day on November 13 and 14. Gnashbash's birthday celebration runs November 23 to December 1, and Wintersday opens the winter season on December 8 and runs into early January. ArenaNet has also teased that a Hall of Monuments feature tied to Guild Wars 3 will begin at an unannounced later date, though no window has been confirmed for it yet — for now, Code of Creation and its Challenge Mode follow-up are the only fixed dates on the board.

If you're catching up before logging in, the official patch notes and the Code of Creation wiki page both break down every new skill, achievement and vendor added with the release, which is worth a skim if you're planning your first run through Leyspring Hollows tonight.
