Street Fighter 6: Arjun Launches as the Second Year 4 Fighter
Street Fighter 6's second Year 4 character, Arjun, is live now. Here's his full moveset, how to unlock him, and every balance fix in the October 13 patch.
Arjun is live in Street Fighter 6. Capcom's second Year 4 fighter unlocked on October 13 alongside a maintenance patch that also quietly fixed a handful of bugs across six other characters, and a new outfit for C. Viper went up in the shop the same day.
01Who Is Arjun?
Arjun is a former police officer from India whose story kicks off with tragedy: his partner was murdered, he was framed for the killing, and he has spent the years since on the run while chasing down the truth. Capcom frames him as the game's second playable character from India, following Dhalsim, but built as his narrative and mechanical opposite. Where Dhalsim is elastic and evasive, Arjun is a towering, immovable wall who uses Yoga Breathing techniques to turn pressure into punishment rather than distance.
His story plays out in Arcade mode, and Capcom has built an Avatar Arcade tie-in around the launch: a new Battle Tour mode lets players earn rewards tied to Arjun's debut while they fight through his content.

02Arjun's Fighting Style and Moves
Capcom markets Arjun as a recoverable-damage specialist, meaning a lot of his offense chips away at a temporary damage pool the opponent can heal back rather than permanent health. His move list leans on traps, zoning tools, and punishing counters:
- Arm of Justice — a winding punch that saps the opponent's energy, with light, medium, and heavy versions plus an optional follow-up.
- Cruel Shoulder — a lunging shoulder tackle whose range and speed scale with attack strength.
- Breathing Ring — a ring of air that can be converted into a traveling projectile, Breathing Shockwave, fired at different angles.
- Divine Pillar — an earth pillar that erupts at a distance set by attack strength; holding the button delays when it rises.
- Justice Beyond — if Cruel Shoulder connects with an active Divine Pillar, Arjun rips it out of the ground and swings it at the opponent.
- Ghastly Interrogation — a command grab that deals recoverable damage, or real damage if the opponent is already carrying recoverable damage from an earlier hit.
- Indomitable Defense and Moral Breakdown — a defensive stance that converts incoming strikes into counterattacks, chaining into a follow-up gut punch.
His three Super Arts escalate from Howling Destruction, a rapid-fire breathing barrage, through Instant Oblivion, which launches the opponent into a waiting Divine Pillar, up to Yaksha's Order, a Level 3 that disrupts the opponent's balance before a cinematic finish.

03How to Unlock Arjun
Arjun is included for anyone who already owns the Year 4 Character Pass or the Year 4 Ultimate Pass — Capcom added him to those accounts automatically on release. Everyone else can buy him individually using Fighter Coins through the in-game shop, which is also where the full Street Fighter 6 store page lists every current pass and bundle. He's the second of four planned Year 4 characters, arriving after Yasmine earlier this year.
The same update shipped C. Viper's Outfit 4, a new costume Capcom is describing as a more glamorous, swimsuit-themed look, available through the same shop alongside Arjun's own alternate costume.
04October 13 Update: Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
Outside of the new character, the patch that went out with Arjun is light on balance changes — nothing here is expected to move anyone up or down the tier lists, since nearly everything is a straight bug fix. A few are effectively small buffs, correcting block damage that was dealing less than Capcom intended:
- Chun-Li: Serenity Stream now cancels correctly off an Up input during a specific screen transition.
- Dhalsim: Yoga Float no longer produces a backward slide with a forward-facing animation when inputs and position swaps overlap.
- Guile: Sonic Boom no longer gets stuck in place when Sonic Blade transitions into Sonic Cross against a projectile.
- Kimberly: Emergency Stop now functions correctly during Overdrive Sprint's second hit.
- Luke: Rising Uppercut's chip damage in Burnout is now at least a quarter of its normal damage, as intended.
- M. Bison: Double Knee Press (Overdrive) now ground-bounces instead of knocking down, fixing a whiff on the follow-up; two Psycho Mine strings also get Drive Gauge and juggle fixes.
05What's Next for Street Fighter 6 Year 4
Capcom has confirmed two more fighters still to come this year's content cycle: Tifa Lockhart, crossing over from Final Fantasy VII, is pencilled in for early 2027, with original character Bosch following in spring 2027. If the cadence between Yasmine and Arjun holds, expect the next reveal trailer well before Tifa's launch window — worth checking back on Capcom's own Street Fighter 6 news page as that gets closer.
For now, Arjun is live, purchasable, and ready to test in ranked and casual matches, with his full move list available in Training Mode and his story playable from the Arcade menu.
