Neon Abyss 2: How to Beat Theia and Build Every New 1.0 Set

Neon Abyss 2 left Early Access in version 1.0 with reworked sets, Storm Breach, and the new Titan boss Theia. Here's exactly how to build and survive it.

Neon Abyss 2 closed out its Early Access run on October 7, 2026, and version 1.0 landed with a new Titan boss, a reworked Faith system, and a faster co-op mode. If you spent the last fifteen months running Early Access builds, several of the systems you knew have changed shape, and if you're jumping in for the first time, there's a lot more to learn than the original Neon Abyss ever asked of you. Here's what actually shipped, and how to build toward beating it.

This isn't a cosmetic patch. Veewo Games rebuilt several armor sets from the ground up, overhauled how the Artisanism Faith pays off, and fixed a long list of co-op bugs that previously made group runs risky to finish. If you're deciding whether to jump back in now or wait, the short answer is: jump in now, because several of the old farming routes and set builds no longer work the way guides from Early Access describe.

01What Changed When Neon Abyss 2 Hit 1.0

Veewo Games closed Early Access and launched Neon Abyss 2 version 1.0 on October 7, 2026, confirming the full release across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The patch notes for the update, posted to the game's Steam community page, list seven headline additions: the new final boss Theia, full Steam achievement support, the Storm Breach game mode leaving beta, random Agent selection with new per-Agent profiles, a reworked Artisanism Faith that uses crafting badges, a day-night cycle and hidden boss in the Fishing Room, and an in-game music player for Supporter Pack owners. Underneath those headlines sits a long list of set reworks, graphics and ultrawide support, and co-op bug fixes that make this closer to a relaunch than a routine patch.

The update also folds in smaller quality-of-life changes that matter more than they sound: Smiley Merchants now let you switch what resource you're paying with mid-trade, the Weapon XP Hexjar releases souls in fixed amounts instead of a chaotic cloud, and evolution unlock order has been smoothed out for a cleaner early game. None of this replaces a wiki, but it's enough to plan your first 1.0 run around.

A handful of cosmetic and accessibility additions round out the patch: Zapbit gets several new outfits (with more locked behind the Supporter Pack DLC), completed sets now have reworked visuals so it's clearer when one has actually triggered, and the localization pass touches several non-English languages. None of that changes how you play, but it does mean some screenshots and guides from Early Access will look slightly out of date next to what you see in 1.0.

TipCheck each Agent's profile at the bar before you commit to a run — their boss kill record and highest Fate record make it easy to see which ones are actually close to a Theia clear instead of guessing from memory.

02How to Beat Theia, Neon Abyss 2's New Titan Boss

Theia is the game's new end-game boss, introduced as "Theia: God of Vanity" in the 1.0 reveal trailer. In Greek myth, Theia is the Titan mother of Helios, Selene and Eos, and Neon Abyss 2 leans into that lineage by casting her as a being of blinding, narcissistic light rather than a straightforward monster. The official reveal describes her in her godlike form as "a distorted blend of broken mirrors, sharp gemstones and radiant neon auras," and confirms the fight runs across three phases, with disorienting flashes and shattering audio cues from the very start of the encounter.

The developers haven't published a phase-by-phase breakdown, so treat anything beyond that as unconfirmed until more players reach her. What you can plan around now: her kit is built to disorient rather than simply out-damage you, so items and Hatchmon abilities that reduce flash duration, grant brief invincibility, or cleanse debuffs will matter more here than in a typical boss room. Go in with full healing reserved rather than topped off early, since the opening of the fight is apparently the least safe moment rather than the ramp-up you'd expect from most Neon Abyss bosses.

Theia sits at the end of the run, which means she inherits whatever build you've assembled by the time you reach her. That's the real reason the 1.0 set reworks matter: picking the right set early can decide whether you walk into her arena with a build that can actually survive three phases of forced disorientation.

The patch notes' own bug-fix list hints at where she sits in the game's boss roster: entries referencing fixes for "Zeus not acting" and "Apollo's final phase failing to advance" confirm both of those Titans are already boss encounters earlier in a run. Theia now caps that lineup as the final fight, which tracks with her introduction as an end-game, not mid-run, encounter.

03Every Reworked Set in the 1.0 Update and How to Build Them

Several of the game's armor and item sets were reworked for 1.0, and a few are worth building toward on purpose rather than finding by accident:

  • Sky Heist replaces its old paid manual hacking with a permanent rainbow key and automatic hacking of nearby targets. Carrying more regular keys raises the number of targets you can connect to at once, and attack speed now affects how fast the hacking resolves, so this set rewards a key-hoarding, speed-stacking build over a slow, deliberate one.
  • Alloy Resolve keeps its explosion immunity and free grenades, but grenade blast range is now 1.5 times larger, turning it into a legitimate area-clear option instead of a defensive afterthought.
  • Lovely Legion converts Hatchmon eggs into shields, and 1.0 cleans up the visual feedback so it's clearer when the conversion triggers and what you're getting from it.
  • Carnival Frenzy reworks its Jump Marks so they generate and trigger continuously, with every third mark replaced by an auto-targeting turret cloud that fires homing projectiles. It's now a genuine jump-focused damage build rather than a novelty.
  • Tao Unfolds generates ten Purple Wisps per battle instead of a handful, with Wisp respawn time cut to a tenth of its old value and charge speed doubled.
  • Arcane Echo halves the Crystal cost of active Curios (down to a minimum of 1 Crystal) and stores up to six Crystal Daggers from Curio use, which then fire periodically at a rate tied to your attack speed.

Shops and Athena reward rooms can now also offer a Great Wonder Block, a rarer item that gives you more room to steer a run toward one of these sets instead of taking whatever the floor gives you.

04The Artisanism Faith Rework and Crafting Badges

The Artisanism Faith path has been reworked for 1.0 around badges. Crafting now uses badges to grant a new Affix after the craft completes, which opens up build possibilities regardless of which weapon you're carrying into a run. If you previously ignored Artisanism because its payoff felt thin, this is the update that's meant to change that calculus: it's no longer tied to a single weapon archetype, so it slots into whichever set you're already building toward.

Combine it with the Wonder Block changes above and a full run now has noticeably more build-defining choices on the way down than Early Access offered, especially in shops and Athena rooms.

05Storm Breach and the New Agent Profiles

Storm Breach, previously in beta, is now live for everyone as a faster, more streamlined mode built around 1-4 player co-op. If a full Neon Abyss 2 run feels like too much of a commitment for a co-op session with friends, Storm Breach is the version built for that.

Agent selection also changed: you can once again pick a random Agent at the bar, and every Agent now keeps a profile recording their abilities alongside their boss kill record and highest Fate record. That record-keeping is explicitly meant to help you plan your next boss route, which makes it worth checking before you commit to a run with a given Agent rather than after.

Co-op itself got a substantial reliability pass that's easy to miss in a headline list but matters a lot if you've been burned by it before. Storm Breach's Faith Room teleports no longer trap you mid-run, host disconnects are now handled cleanly so clients stop treating a dead room as still online, and personal save data no longer leaks in or out of co-op progress. Results screens were also fixed so teammates' cards stop going missing when someone submits early or leaves the room. If your group gave up on co-op runs during Early Access because of any of that, 1.0 is worth a second look.

How to Build Toward Neon Abyss 2's New 1.0 Content

  1. 1Each Agent now tracks their boss kill record and highest Fate record. Review it before picking who to run, so you know which Agents are actually close to a Theia clear.2 min
  2. 2Crafting through Artisanism now grants a bonus Affix on completion via badges, and it works with any weapon rather than one archetype — spend early Faith here if it's on your route.5 min
  3. 3These rarer blocks appear in 1.0 and let you steer a run toward one specific set instead of taking whatever drops.ongoing
  4. 4Sky Heist for key-stacking hack builds, Carnival Frenzy for jump-focused damage, or Arcane Echo for Crystal Dagger uptime — pick one once you see its pieces and build around it rather than splitting resources.10 min
  5. 5It now releases souls in fixed amounts instead of a chaotic burst, so it's a reliable weapon XP source if your build needs a specific weapon leveled.5 min
  6. 6Use the now-live Storm Breach mode to test a build with 1-3 friends before committing it to a full run — co-op reliability fixes mean it's less likely to break mid-session.15 min
  7. 71.0 added a hidden boss here tied to the new day-night cycle. The exact trigger isn't officially documented yet, so check back across a few visits.10 min
  8. 8Her three-phase fight opens with disorienting flashes and audio rather than ramping up to them, so go in with resources held back rather than already spent.varies

06Where to Find the Fishing Room's Hidden Boss

The Fishing Room received a day-night cycle in 1.0, and with it comes what the patch notes only describe as "a little surprise" — a hidden boss now available in that room. Veewo Games deliberately left the discovery method out of the notes, so treat the exact trigger as unconfirmed until it's independently verified; the only official detail is that the day-night cycle is involved. If you've been skipping the Fishing Room as a detour, 1.0 is the update that makes it worth a visit on every run.

Graphics and performance also got attention this patch: quality and frame rate are now independent settings, PC supports Medium or High quality at 60, 120, or uncapped frame rates with VSync handled per your display, and ultrawide resolutions up to 3840x1600 are supported for the first time. Controller vibration and screen shake are now separate settings too, with less frequent vibration during normal attacks, so if the original build felt like it buzzed constantly, that's specifically been toned down.
