Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: Dual-Wielding, Clampdown and More
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 adds dual-wielding, cyberware customization, the Clampdown quest, a new radio station and cross-platform mod support.
CD Projekt Red shipped the Edgerunners 2 Update on October 22, free for every Cyberpunk 2077 owner on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release to follow. Update 2.5 ties into the second season of the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and adds the game's first dual-wielding playstyle, cyberware customization, a new side quest, cross-platform mod support and a long list of quality-of-life and technical fixes.
01What's New in Update 2.5
The headline additions are the Double Trouble perk for dual-wielding, five cyberware customization shops called Glamdocs, a new side quest called "Clampdown," a radio station built from the Edgerunners soundtrack, and mod.io-powered Cross-Platform Mod Support on every platform, including consoles. CD Projekt Red detailed the full list in its own patch notes for Update 2.5, and confirmed the update had gone live in a follow-up post on its official site.
02Dual-Wielding Finally Comes to Night City
Dual-wielding has been one of the most requested features since launch, and Update 2.5 delivers it through a new perk, Double Trouble, in the Cool skill tree. Unlocking it lets V equip a Power-category pistol or revolver in each hand, backed by four auxiliary combat perks that CD Projekt Red hasn't fully detailed yet. Photo Mode also picks up new dual-wielding poses, so expect this to become the go-to way to show off two-gun builds.
If you haven't loaded up Night City in a while, the free update is reason enough to reinstall from the Steam store page and start pumping perk points into the Cool tree the moment you're back in.

03Cyberware Customization at the Glamdocs
Four cyberware types can now be restyled: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System. Each of the five new Glamdoc vendors, marked on the map with a spray-paint icon, runs its own intro scene with dedicated voiceover and animation, and sells a catalog of skins with adjustable colors. It's a cosmetic system rather than a stat change, but it's one of the clearest signs CD Projekt Red is still actively supporting the five-year-old RPG.
04The Clampdown Quest and Weak Kingsley's Gear
The update's main story content is a new side quest, Clampdown, set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. It unlocks after completing "The Heist" and two gigs for the fixer Wakako Abernathy, who then sends V a message to kick it off. Finishing the quest rewards a five-piece gear set based on the anime character Weak Kingsley, including his signature revolver, Coronation. CD Projekt Red also added a second, unrelated side quest called "Welcome to Paradise," unlocked at level 15 Street Cred, which sends V on a guided tour of Night City narrated by the fixer Richard Night.

05Mod Support, Radio and Other Additions
Cross-Platform Mod Support, built on mod.io, now lets players browse and install community-made mods from an in-game menu on PC, PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with more mods promised over time. A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, plays a selection of tracks from the anime, and five new outfit sets land at clothing vendors across Heywood, Japantown, Kabuki, Pacifica and other districts. On the technical side, Update 2.5 adds DLSS 4.5 with Multi Frame Generation, MetalFX Frame Interpolation, an FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle and glasses-free 3D support for compatible Samsung Odyssey monitors, while removing the older FSR 3 upscaler. CD Projekt Red also fixed a Delamain cab bug that could block quest progression, a Nintendo Switch 2 save error, and HDR and Film Grain settings that weren't working correctly on PS5.
06How to Get Update 2.5
The update is a free download for anyone who already owns Cyberpunk 2077; there's no separate purchase or expansion pass required. It's live now on PC via Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store, plus Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions confirmed to follow "in the days after." CD Projekt Red teased the update on its official X account ahead of launch.

With Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 now streaming on Netflix and Update 2.5 live across most platforms, this is the biggest content drop Night City has seen in some time, and a reminder CD Projekt Red isn't done supporting the 2020 RPG just yet.
