Behaviour Interactive put its next licensed killer on live servers for testing on October 27, 2026, publishing full patch notes for Dead by Daylight build 10.3.0 that confirm Art the Clown from the Terrifier film series as the Trial's newest Killer, alongside a new Survivor, a new map, and a reworked Mori system.

01Who The Terrifier Chapter Brings to the Fog

The chapter is built around Art the Clown, the mute, grinning antagonist of Damien Leone's Terrifier trilogy, joining a licensed roster that already includes Chucky, Ghost Face, and Pinhead. He arrives alongside a new Survivor, Sienna Shaw, and a new Realm called The Subdivisions. The patch is currently live only on the Player Test Build, Dead by Daylight's public pre-release server on Steam, where Behaviour Interactive gathers feedback and makes balance passes before a chapter goes live on every platform.

TipIf the new Killer's kills are too much, open Settings > Gameplay and turn on Gore Customization — Death Sequences and Natural Blood Color are the two sliders worth trying before the Terrifier chapter goes live for everyone.

02Art the Clown's Power: Bag of Toys

According to the official patch notes, Art's power is called Bag of Toys. Holding the Ability button opens the bag and offers a choice of two random Toys, each a single-use special item: an Acid Bottle that can be thrown or used to create damaging puddles, a Flail that sweeps over obstacles, a Handgun that fires a single shot, a Flamethrower that can ignite Pallets, Windows, and Generators, and a Bike Horn that reveals Survivors with Killer Instinct and resets active status effects.

Every Toy that connects applies a Torture effect and raises that Toy's Deadliness. Once a Toy reaches maximum Deadliness, it can down an injured Survivor outright, and a maxed-out Bike Horn interrupts repairs and healing while regressing progress. Art also has a Taunt action: using it on a hooked or downed Survivor who is already Terrified grants a point of Deadliness to every Toy at once, rewarding players who lean into the character's horror-movie theatrics instead of just chasing.

03New Perks for Killer and Survivor

Art brings three Killer perks. Laughingstock punishes Survivors who linger near a just-completed Generator with Exhaustion and Oblivious, Kill Spree lets a Killer finish off Survivors once every remaining Survivor has two hook states and every Generator is done, and Funny Business grants a Haste burst whenever a Generator is damaged, with a random side effect attached each time. Sienna Shaw, the chapter's new Survivor, brings Valkyrie's Rage, which punishes a Killer who gets pallet-stunned after a long chase; Shared Trauma, which helps nearby Survivors recover from Exhaustion after a protection hit; and Best Gift Ever, a token perk that consumes dropped Items for one-time bonuses tied to each item type.

04New Map: Hartshorne Mall

The patch also adds a new Realm, The Subdivisions, headlined by the Hartshorne Mall map. Behaviour's notes frame it with a short piece of in-fiction lore about Dwight Fairfield getting lost in the mall as a child after following a voice through an "Employees Only" door — setting up the map as the origin point for one of the game's longest-running Survivor characters rather than just a reskinned environment.

05Gore Settings and a Reworked Mori System

Alongside the new content, 10.3.0 adds a Gore Customization section to the Settings menu. Players can tone down Death Sequences, switch Natural Blood Color to a neutral green, or turn on a Regional Streamer Mode that does both while also anonymizing other players' names. Behaviour is also restructuring how finishing-move animations work, splitting Moris into three categories — Finisher, Power, and Perk/Offering Moris — each triggered with a standardized attack-button prompt, with Art the Clown the first Killer built around the new system before it rolls out to existing Killers over time.

06Balance Changes in This Patch

The notes also revisit several perks Behaviour touched in the previous 10.2.0 update. Dark Sense now builds Tokens from the start of the Trial and Generator completions instead of only triggering once, Calm Spirit's Totem and Chest speed bonus rises to 23-25% (up from 8-10%), and Slippery Meat trades some of its unhook-speed bonus for a bigger post-unhook Haste buff. On the Killer side, Dark Arrogance loses some of its vault-speed bonus in exchange for a shorter basic-attack cooldown, Ravenous' Exposed duration drops to 60-70 seconds from 80-90, and Whispers' Haste bonus rises to 7%. The build also fixes a long list of Survivor bot behavior, map collision, and UI bugs, which Behaviour has listed in full on the official patch notes post.

07When the Terrifier Chapter Launches

Behaviour has confirmed the Terrifier chapter for Dead by Daylight on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but has not published an exact release day for the full, non-PTB launch — outlets covering the reveal have reported windows anywhere from mid to late November 2026, so treat any specific date beyond "November" as unconfirmed until Behaviour posts its own live patch notes.
