PUBG Update 44.1: LMG Meta Rotation Ends, Vehicles Buffed
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 44.1 ends the LMG Meta Rotation early, buffs vehicle durability across the board, and reworks two PvE modes for November.
KRAFTON rolled out PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 44.1 on November 3, with patch notes and a developer letter confirming the first LMG Meta Rotation is being shut down months ahead of schedule. The update hits PC first, followed by console a week later, and pairs the gunplay reversal with a vehicle durability pass, two reworked PvE modes, and the start of Ranked Season 44.
PC maintenance is scheduled for November 4, 2026, from 00:00 to 08:30 UTC. Console players get the patch during maintenance on November 12, 2026, from 01:00 to 09:00 UTC. Both windows are subject to change, so check the in-game notice before queuing.
01Why the LMG Meta Rotation Is Ending Early
PUBG's first Meta Rotation launched in August, targeting LMGs specifically because they had low usage rates as primary weapons at the time. The team applied aggressive buffs to reload speed, recoil, aim-down-sights speed, and vehicle damage to push players toward trying the class. According to the developer letter, it worked too well: LMG pick rates spiked past the intended target, and by October the class had the second-highest usage rate among short- and mid-range weapons, excluding sniper rifles.
That swing came with side effects. KRAFTON's own data showed vehicle explosion rates, tire destruction, and BRDM-2 losses all climbed sharply after the August buffs, only partially recovering once a September hotfix walked back some of the changes. Developers said the net effect limited weapon and playstyle variety instead of expanding it, and that player feedback on the rotation was largely negative.
With Update 44.1, reload time, recoil, ADS speed, the vehicle damage multiplier, firing-stance recoil reduction, and world spawn rates for LMGs all revert to their pre-August values. The M249 and MG3 return to where they stood before the rotation began, while the RPD — added alongside the August changes — gets rebalanced to sit in line with the rest of the LMG class rather than being reverted outright.
KRAFTON says it isn't abandoning the Meta Rotation concept, but the first attempt is prompting a review of how long each rotation should run and how aggressive the balance swings should be. A second rotation is now planned for 2027 rather than this December as originally scheduled.
02Vehicles Get a Durability Pass
Update 44.1's other headline change is a blanket vehicle health buff, meant to offset how exposed drivers felt during the LMG rotation. Health increases scale by vehicle type: an 8% boost for the Motorcycle, Scooter, Dirt Bike, Snowmobile, Motor Glider, Aquarail, Boat, Buggy, and Quad; 10% for the Dacia, Mirado, Coupe RB, Pony Coupe, Tukshai, Zima, UAZ, Pickup, Rony, Blanc, and Pillar Security Car; and 15% for the Porter, Pico Bus, Van, Food Truck, Pillar UAZ, and BRDM-2.

Tire durability rises too, with the biggest jumps going to the slowest, boxiest vehicles — the Porter, Food Truck, Van, and Pico Bus gain 75% more tire durability, while the Zima, UAZ, Blanc, Rony, and Pickup get 30%. The BRDM-2 also handles better on hills and tops out at a higher top speed, and the Buggy's tires grip rough terrain more reliably after players complained about excessive sliding.
The Van, Pico Bus, and Food Truck also gain dedicated trunk storage with 300 capacity, and the Coupe RB's trunk grows from 100 to 120. Loot spacing on the ground is adjusted too, so items spawned close together overlap or hide behind one another less often.
03Dawnbreakers of Rondo Returns with a Nightmare Difficulty
The limited-time mode Dawnbreakers of Rondo, which debuted in October, comes back for Update 44.1 with a single new "Nightmare" difficulty replacing the previous Rookie and Veteran tiers. It's set exclusively on the Jadena City stage, now reworked with a burning-skyline presentation, and throws tougher, more varied Hungers at squads from earlier in the run. Generators need more fuel canisters to activate, and the final capacitor defense is harder to clear.
The mode is balanced for a four-player squad with no scaling for smaller teams, though solo players can still queue in. A dedicated leaderboard tracks fastest clear times through PUBG Bridge. It runs on PC from November 4 through November 25 at 07:00 UTC, and on console from November 12 through December 3 at 07:00 UTC.
04Xeno Point: Hell and Ranked Season 44
The PvE mode Xeno Point also gets a difficulty overhaul, collapsing its old Normal, Hard, and Impossible tiers into a single "Hell" difficulty where enemy strength instead scales by sector — Sector 1 plays like the old Normal, Sector 2 like Hard, and Sector 3 plus the Mothership like Impossible. Enemy HP, attack power, and currency payouts now also adjust automatically based on how many players are in the squad, including mid-run if teammates join or leave. The old reload-time damage invincibility while wearing a vest is replaced with a temporary damage-reduction effect instead.

Separately, Ranked Season 44 begins with the patch. The previous season's final tier determines a reward set, Season 44 adds a permanent P90 weapon skin as a Platinum-and-above tier reward, and the minimum performance standards required to hold Platinum or higher have been raised. The leaderboard resets at maintenance, and players can check their final Season 43 standing on their Career page before it rolls over.
05Smaller Changes Worth Knowing
Console players also get faster input recognition on every controller preset — the window for distinguishing a tap from a hold drops from 0.3 to 0.2 seconds for gameplay actions, and from 1.0 to 0.5 seconds for menu navigation. KRAFTON says the same change comes to PC with December's Update 44.2. A cosmetic collaboration with K-pop group IVE also launches alongside the patch, and PUBG Fantasy returns for PGC 2026 on both PC and console.
On the competitive side, Console NA Solo (FPP), NA Duo (FPP), and APAC Duo matchmaking are discontinued for low population, and several regional queues move to fixed daily operating hours instead of running around the clock. Full patch notes, including bug fixes and Workshop changes, are on PUBG's official site.
FAQ
When does PUBG Update 44.1 go live?
PC maintenance runs November 4, 2026 from 00:00 to 08:30 UTC. Console maintenance follows on November 12, 2026 from 01:00 to 09:00 UTC.
Why is the LMG Meta Rotation ending early?
KRAFTON says the August buffs made LMGs stronger than intended, cutting into weapon and playstyle variety and drawing largely negative player feedback, so the rotation ends with 44.1 instead of running through December.
Which weapons are affected by the LMG reversal?
The M249 and MG3 return to their pre-August balance in full. The RPD, added during the rotation, is adjusted to match the rest of the LMG class instead of being reverted outright.
What changes for vehicles in Update 44.1?
Every vehicle gets a health increase of 8-15% depending on type, several get bigger tire durability boosts, the BRDM-2 handles hills and top speed better, and the Van, Pico Bus, and Food Truck gain trunk storage.
Is there a new PvE difficulty in this update?
Yes. Dawnbreakers of Rondo adds a single Nightmare difficulty on Jadena City, and Xeno Point replaces its three difficulties with one Hell difficulty that scales by sector and squad size.
