Battlefield 6 Season 5: Siege of Vegas Patch Notes
Battlefield 6's Game Update 2.1.1.0 launches Season 5: Siege of Vegas with two new maps, four weapons, Rapid Royale and Ranked Battle Royale.
Battlefield 6's fifth season is live. Game Update 2.1.1.0 began rolling out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at 8:00 UTC on October 13, 2026, and Season 5: Siege of Vegas unlocked a few hours later at 12:00 UTC, according to EA's own patch notes. The update moves the fight from Empire State's earlier battlegrounds to the Las Vegas Strip and the fenced-off desert around Area 51, and it ships with new weapons, a reworked REDSEC Battle Royale mode, and the official start of Ranked play.
It's the fourth major content season since Battlefield 6 launched, following Season 4's Tidal Strike update back on October 1, and it keeps the same seasonal cadence: new maps and weapons at the start, followed by mid-season events and a later map drop. EA's Season 5 roadmap frames it as the biggest season since launch, built around a single destination โ Las Vegas โ rather than scattering new content across unrelated locations.
01Vegas Strip and Area 51: The New Maps
Vegas Strip is the season's headline map: a dense casino district with rooftop ziplines, fountains and storm drains that both infantry and vehicles can fight through, with land vehicles and helicopters in the mix. Area 51 pairs that urban chaos with open desert combat, a crater entrance that drops into underground tunnels, dirt bikes for crossing open ground, jets, and a destructible Air Traffic Control tower. EA's roadmap lists a third Vegas-themed map, tied to a Casino Heist update, arriving later in the season on November 10.

02New Weapons, Battle Pass and Ranked Battle Royale
Four weapons join the arsenal with Siege of Vegas: the Mk 24 assault rifle, built for longer-range fights but limited by magazine size; the RSPR, a compact personal defence weapon with rifle-caliber stopping power and higher recoil; the Z84M, a belt-fed light machine gun with a 100-round capacity; and the ELR-40 bolt-action sniper rifle, which includes a single-shot mode that trades range for faster follow-up shots. The season's Battle Pass adds six instant unlocks, four themed progression paths and more than 100 tiers, while BF Pro subscribers get extra instant unlocks, Tier Skips, a 15% XP boost and persistent Portal server hosting.
Ranked Battle Royale also graduates out of Battlefield Labs testing with Season 5, bringing redesigned Ranked badges and new rewards, and Multiplayer Leaderboards track competitive progress for the first time.
03REDSEC Gets Rapid Royale
REDSEC's big addition is Rapid Royale, a faster and more aggressive take on Battle Royale built around a lower player count, stronger airdrop loot and the fastest-closing ring of fire the mode has had. It runs across multiple maps, including Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley, and keeps REDSEC's earned-redeploy system intact. Standard Battle Royale matchmaking now locks during the final 10 seconds of the pre-round lobby, and armor plates apply 20% faster across both modes, with an additional 12% bonus from the Quick Plating Engineer Perk.

04Major Balance Changes
Anti-air got the heaviest tuning in this patch. 35mm High Velocity ammo now deals 25 damage to infantry, up from 13, though its convergence range shrinks from 300 to 90 meters, and Mobile AA turret rotation speed is up 50%. Helicopters got tougher at the same time: Light Rockets now need 7 hits against Scout Helicopters (up from 4), 9 against Attack Helicopters (up from 5) and 15 against Transport Helicopters (up from 11), while rocket splash damage against infantry drops 30%. Tanks and IFVs regenerate health more slowly, with a full recovery from critical now taking 8 seconds, and a tank's rear armor at 86-94 degrees now takes 2.5x damage.
Gadgets also shifted: the PTKM-1R mine can no longer be triggered by neutral vehicles, M15 mines can now be placed while prone, and the SLM-93A Spire can no longer fire without aiming down sights. Inside REDSEC specifically, Sniper Rifle and DMR ammo capacity drops from 70 to 60 rounds, and several 5.56, 9mm, 5.45 and 7.62 weapons need an extra bullet to down armored targets at longer ranges.
On the Field Training side, Recon loses its Drone Operator path in favor of a Handheld Jammer that disrupts enemy redeploy points and Motion Sensors, and Assault swaps its Hazmat Breacher gadget for an Assault Ladder and a High Explosive Grenade Launcher. A separate, limited-time Battlefield 6 x Dead Space: Convergence event runs October 20 through November 10, adding a 16-player PvE "Marker Incursion" mode built around a Pulse Rifle battle pickup, with an "Aegis VII" soldier skin and an SMG weapon package as rewards.
