VALORANT Agent Tier List: Best Picks for Act 6's Map Pool
VALORANT's Patch 13.08 swaps Ascent and Split for Bind and Corrode. Here's our opinion tier list of the best agents for Act 6's new map pool.
VALORANT's Patch 13.08 landed on October 13, 2026, and with it came the start of Act 6 — and a map pool swap that changes which agents are worth queuing into Competitive. Corrode and Bind are back in the Competitive and Deathmatch rotation, while Ascent and Split have rotated out of both (they're still playable in Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush and Escalation). Corrode also got a mechanical rework alongside the swap, not just a pool change.
This is our opinion tier list for that new pool, built from each agent's actual kit as described on Riot's own site rather than from win-rate spreadsheets that haven't caught up to the patch yet. One thing worth flagging up front: Patch 13.08 made no numbered agent balance changes. The only agent-facing tweak is cosmetic — Killjoy's Alarmbot now has clearer VFX and audio when a moving door destroys it. Everything below is a read on fit, not a reaction to buffs or nerfs.
01Act 6 Swaps Ascent and Split for Bind and Corrode
Riot's own description of Bind has always been blunt about what makes it different: two sites, no middle, and you commit to a side the moment you leave spawn. In place of a mid lane, Bind runs on two one-way teleporters that let attackers vanish from one side of the map and reappear deep on the other — a flank threat that doesn't exist on most other maps in the pool.
Corrode isn't new to the pool, but Patch 13.08 reworked it on the way back in. According to the official patch notes, defenders now get shorter paths into the back of A and B, the metal half wall in Mid has been pushed out roughly a meter, the boxes in Lower Mid have shifted toward B with a jump-up added, the Lower Mid wall itself has been raised, and the post-plant value defenders get from A Link has been reduced. None of that is a numbers-on-a-spreadsheet balance patch — it's a geometry change, and it rewards different utility than the old layout did.
Put those two maps together and you get a pool that punishes agents built purely around a shared mid lane, and rewards agents who can lock down a single site, watch a specific flank, or force information out of a narrow angle.
02How We Ranked These Agents
We're not pretending this is a science — it's an opinion, same as any tier list — but we tried to anchor it to specifics instead of vibes.
How We Ranked These Agents
- 1We weighted each agent against Bind's two-site, no-mid layout and Corrode's reworked Mid and A Link from Patch 13.08, not just raw win rates on the old maps.
- 2Rankings lean on each agent's actual abilities as described on Riot's own agent pages, not patch-note buffs or nerfs — Patch 13.08 made no agent balance changes.
- 3Bind's two one-way teleporters and Corrode's narrowed defender paths reward agents who can watch or deny a specific angle without rotating their whole kit.
- 4On two sites with no middle lane to share info, attackers need agents who can force an opening fast rather than out-rotate defenders.
- 5We also weighed whether a pick still functions in Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush and Escalation, where Ascent and Split remain playable outside Ranked.
03S Tier: Must-Picks for This Map Pool
Killjoy (Sentinel). Her kit is built around anchoring a fixed location, and a map with two one-way teleporter exit rooms and a map with a reworked, narrower Mid both hand her exactly that. Her Alarmbot — which hunts anything that wanders into range and applies Vulnerable on detonation, per Riot's own agent page — is the single cleanest answer to Bind's teleporter flanks on either server.
Sova (Initiator). Sova's Recon Bolt activates on impact and reveals nearby enemies in its line of sight, bouncing up to twice off walls on alt-fire. That matters more than usual on Corrode's reshuffled Lower Mid and on Bind, where you genuinely cannot see across the map and have to earn information instead.
Viper (Controller). Her gas emitter can be thrown, left in place for the entire round, and re-triggered from fuel to wall off a lane — and because it's a persistent deployable rather than a one-time-use smoke, it's unusually good at permanently cutting one of Bind's two sites or Corrode's reworked Mid half-wall sightline for an entire half.
Raze (Duelist). Tight corners and teleporter exit rooms are exactly where explosive-spam Duelists earn their keep, and Raze's kit is built entirely around forcing bad positions to either die or reveal themselves.
04A Tier: Strong, Reliable Picks
Omen (Controller). His Paranoia shadow projectile briefly blinds anything it touches and passes through walls, and his smoke orb can be placed from within a phased, wall-penetrating state. That flexibility travels well to a map like Bind that has no shared mid to fight over — Omen doesn't need to walk into the open to put a smoke where he wants it.
Breach (Initiator). Flashpoint fires a wall-penetrating blind and, on a held charge, triggers a quake that dazes everyone in its radius and along its path. On Corrode's narrower reworked paths into the backs of A and B, that's enough to clear a defender out of an angle without a teammate needing to peek it first.
Cypher (Sentinel). His Trapwire tethers, reveals and dazes anyone who crosses it, and it's destructible and redeployable, which makes it a near-permanent watch on Bind's teleporter exit rooms — set it once and you know the instant someone tries the flank.
Jett (Duelist). Her Drift ability lets her glide, then convert that glide into a burst dash that resets every two kills, which is exactly the kind of vertical, high-tempo movement that punishes Corrode's new jump-up near the shifted Lower Mid boxes.
Clove (Controller).
05B Tier: Situational but Viable
These agents aren't bad on Bind or Corrode — they're just not the first pick, and how well they perform depends more on your team composition than on anything specific to this patch.
- Chamber (Sentinel) — strong anchor power, but his kit rewards long sightlines that Bind simply doesn't offer.
- Fade (Initiator) — reliable information-gathering, competes directly with Sova and Breach for a roster slot rather than adding something they don't.
- Skye (Initiator) — flexible team utility that's always serviceable, never the standout on a pool this chokepoint-heavy.
- KAY/O (Initiator) — suppression utility that's most valuable against ultimate-reliant comps, which is matchup-dependent rather than map-dependent.
- Astra (Controller) — team-wide map control that rewards coordination, but her setup phase costs tempo on sites you need to commit to fast.
- Harbor (Controller) — solid wall-and-zone control, overshadowed here by Viper's persistence and Omen's mobility.
- Reyna (Duelist) — a strong duelist pick in the right hands, but her self-sufficiency matters less on maps built around teamwide chokepoint control.
- Phoenix (Duelist) — steady, self-sustaining entry tool that's never a bad pick and rarely the best one.
- Gekko (Initiator) — creature-based utility that's strong in a vacuum but asks for setup time that a no-mid map doesn't always give you.
06C Tier: Outclassed on Bind and Corrode
Nothing here is unplayable — VALORANT's roster is deep enough that almost everything works with the right team around it — but these picks ask you to fight the map pool instead of using it.
- Yoru (Duelist) — his teleport-and-deceive kit wants space to bait rotations in, and Bind's two-site layout gives defenders very little room to be baited.
- Neon (Duelist) — high-speed lane-running loses most of its value on Bind, which has no long lane to run.
- Iso (Duelist) — his isolating duel utility wants an open sightline neither map hands him often.
- Deadlock (Sentinel) — area-denial tools that are strongest on wide maps, not two tight sites.
- Vyse (Sentinel) — anchor utility that overlaps with Killjoy and Cypher without clearly beating either on this pool.
- Tejo (Initiator) — recon value that's redundant once you're already running Sova or Fade.
- Sage (Sentinel) — wall and heal utility is always useful, but her slow playmaking doesn't match the tempo this pool demands.
- Brimstone (Controller) — straightforward smokes that get outclassed by Viper's persistence and Omen's flexibility here.
07Best Agents by Map
If you only take one thing from this list: on Bind, prioritize an agent who can watch a teleporter exit room without needing to peek it — Killjoy and Cypher both do that better than almost anyone else in the roster. On Corrode, prioritize information through walls and quick space-clearing around the reworked Mid and Lower Mid — Sova, Breach and Raze all do that job well. If you're queuing without knowing which of the two you'll land on, a flex pick like Omen or Killjoy holds up on both without forcing you to relearn your whole approach mid-match.
This tier list reflects Patch 13.08's map and kit details as they stand on October 16, 2026. If Riot ships a numbered agent-balance update later in Act 6, treat this as a snapshot rather than the final word — we'll revisit it when that happens.
FAQ
What changed in VALORANT's Act 6 map pool?
Patch 13.08, released October 13, 2026, added Corrode and Bind to the Competitive and Deathmatch map pools and removed Ascent and Split from both queues. All four maps stay available in Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush and Escalation.
Did Patch 13.08 include agent balance changes?
No. The patch's only agent-facing change is new VFX and audio feedback when Killjoy's Alarmbot is destroyed by a moving door, which isn't a balance adjustment. The lone weapon change was a bug fix for the Warden's scope reticle during full-auto fire.
What's the single best agent for Bind right now?
In our opinion, Killjoy. Bind has no middle lane, just two one-way teleporters connecting the sites, and her Alarmbot plus a deployable turret can watch an exit room or flank route without Killjoy needing to peek it herself.
Is this tier list going to change?
Yes — this is our opinion based on Patch 13.08's verified map and kit details, not a balance patch. If Riot ships a numbered agent-balance update later in Act 6, the rankings here could shift.
